The Space
True Wellness begins with your environment. The Six is located quietly on the second floor, our intimate studio is bathed in warm, continuous natural sunlight that shifts beautifully throughout the day.
We purposely built a micro-space because we believe movement requires your full focus—not the distraction of a crowded gym floor. Our walls are finished in a soft, textured limewash, creating a calming, organic backdrop that lets you leave the outside world behind.
Before your session begins or after you finish your final roll-down, we invite you to pause in our dedicated sitting area. Grab a glass of water or tea, take a deep breath, and let your mind settle. The Six isn’t just a place to workout—it is a space to reconnect with your body and find community with others. Welcome to your personal sanctuary on the South Shore.
The Instructor
My journey into movement began in an unexpected place: the fast-paced world of Manhattan fashion. Working for a renowned fashion magazine, assisting top editors and styling for high-profile photoshoots taught me to appreciate the human form in motion. It was during those demanding, high-energy years that I first discovered my true love for intentional movement.
When I eventually moved back home to Long Island, I found myself craving a deeper sense of community and a meaningful shift in my life. I stepped away from isolated home workouts and sought out local movement studios. That is where I completely fell in love with Pilates.
Driven by a desire to master the practice, I committed fully to my education. I began with classical Mat training in Manhattan, flew down to Miami for intensive, in-person Reformer training, and returned to New York City to complete my certifications on the Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, and Chair. Today, I am proud to be a fully comprehensively trained Pilates instructor.
After spending the last two years teaching at a local studio, I knew it was time to build my own dream. I created The Six to step away from crowded spaces and offer something different: a small, inclusive, sun-drenched sanctuary where women can feel genuinely strong, supported, and connected. I cannot wait to move with you.

To ensure a safe and optimal movement experience, we recommend arriving in form-fitting athletic wear. Clothing that fits closer to the body allows your instructor to clearly see your alignment and monitor your form. Please avoid oversized, loose, or baggy clothing; flowing fabric can easily dangle, tangle, or get caught in the springs and moving components of the apparatuses, potentially causing a serious injury. Additionally, ensure your apparel has no sharp edges like exposed zippers or metal studs that could damage our specialized vinyl upholstery. For your safety, claw hair clips are not allowed while lying on the equipment, as they prevent proper neck alignment on the headrests. Lastly, grip socks are a mandatory requirement for all classes and movement within the studio.
-
Yes, they are. For your safety and the hygiene of our community, grip socks are mandatory for all classes and movement within the studio. Specialized non-slip socks keep your feet firmly planted on the apparatuses, preventing slips during high-intensity sequences. Because our Merrithew gear is shared across an intimate community, keeping feet covered ensures our upholstery stays completely pristine, clean, and hygienic for the next mover. Grip socks are available for purchase in the studio!
-
To preserve the flow and focus of our practice, please arrive on time. For your safety and the security of those in session, our studio doors are locked exactly 10 minutes after class begins, and late entries will not be permitted. Warm-ups are essential to prevent injury on the apparatuses, and late arrivals disrupt the community experience. If it is your very first class with us, we kindly ask that you arrive 10 minutes early so we can properly orient you to the equipment and review safety guidelines. Please allow yourself extra time for parking so you can transition smoothly into your practice.
-
Yes, you are welcome to bring your cell phone into the workout space, but we kindly ask that you keep it completely silenced to preserve the focus and flow of the session. If you choose to record or take photos during class, please be mindful of those around you to respect the privacy, comfort, and experience of your fellow movers.
-
Yes, Pilates is safe and highly beneficial during pregnancy and postpartum. Our studio provides a supportive environment to keep you moving safely through every stage of your motherhood journey.
Prenatal Pilates
For the first 10 Weeks of pregnancy ou are welcome to join our standard group classes, but please inform your instructor about your pregnancy. After 10 Weeks, we require that you transition to Private or Semi-Private sessions for personalized care and safety modifications. We hope to launch dedicated prenatal group classes in the near future!
Postpartum Pilates
Pilates is an excellent, low-impact way to rebuild core strength and support recovery. At the Six, we tailor exercises specifically to your body's changing needs and healing process. We encourage you to move slowly, honor your limits, and listen to your body. Please get medical clearance from your doctor before returning.
